Music

The Anker Motion Boom Plus plays music okay. The sound profile of this Bluetooth-capable speaker is generally even, especially in the mids where the majority of vocals and lead instruments are reproduced. These instruments are pushed to the back of the mix by a drop in the high-mid to treble regions, dulling and obscuring higher-pitched sounds like cymbals. To change its sound, you can still use its Custom EQ and other EQ settings. Additionally, the BassUp preset gives the mix additional punch in the bass, which is a wonderful touch.

Videos/Movies

For videos, the Anker Motion Boom Plus is adequate. Although this speaker isn’t made for watching movies, it may be used to watch videos when connected to your smartphone. You won’t have any lip-synching issues because to the dialogue’s crystal-clear reproduction and low latency on both Android and iOS devices. However, it lacks the powerful bass needed to make action-packed moments come to life.

Podcasts

For podcasts, the Anker Motion Boom Plus works well. Clarity in voice reproduction makes it simple to follow the dialogue in your favorite shows. You can hear your show even if you’re listening in a bigger, more open space because this speaker is also quite loud. You can pick up the speaker and move it from room to room if the episode is longer.

Voice Assistant

There is no voice assistant functionality built into the Anker Motion Boom Plus. To utilize the voice assistant on a compatible smartphone, you must first couple the device with the phone. Although it performs somewhat better than nothing, it isn’t ideal if you’re standing far away or trying to utilize instructions in a noisy setting, such as a party.

Outdoors

For outdoor use, the Anker Motion Boom Plus is excellent. Due to its IP67 rating for dust and water resistance, this sturdy speaker has a robust design that can withstand some exposure to the elements. Its built-in carrying strap makes it simple to move around, and its long battery life is perfect for your days spent traveling. Additionally, it is loud enough to fill larger areas with sound, like your backyard.
